Supermarkets – local

The two big supermarket chains are DelHaize and Carrefour

This is probably the largest supermarket chain in the country with a wide selection. You can find a store near you by typing your street and city in the link below

Carrefour is a large French supermarket chain with shops throughout Belgium. There are three types of stores

The Hypermarkets are very large and have pretty much everything you may need. In Brussels there are three hypermarkets in Auderghem, Berchem and Evere.

There are also Express stores that offer the essentials and are open from early in the morning till late at night. To find the one nearest you just enter your post code in the following link

You can also find branches of the discount supermarkets such as Aldi and Lidl throughout the city.

Supermarkets – foreign

Stonemanor has locations in Waterloo and Everberg offering a wide variety of British goods.

Located in Tervuren near Brussels, the English Shop provides a unique, convenient and quick nationwide delivery service with free delivery on qualifying orders.

ScanShop in Waterloo specialized in groceries, gifts and health products from Scandinavia.

The American Shop, located in Wilrijk, is the largest supplier of US groceries and food items in Belgium.

Shopping Districts

The Sablon area is well known for its shops, cafes and restaurants. This district is best know for its many antique shops and one of the most famous chocolate shops in the city Chocolatier Marcolini

Close to the Grand Place you will find the St. Hubert Galleries with a wide variety of luxury shops and cafes. This is a great place to visit on a winter's afternoon!

If you would like to spend some time visiting all that Brussels can offer in respect of designer shops then the Avenue Louise is for you.

Rue Nueve is best known for its high street stores such as H&M, Zara, Mango etc. It also has an Inno which is probably the best known Belgian department store.
